Research Areas

Prof. Wu’s interdisciplinary research advances equitable healthy aging at the individual, family, and societal levels through a precision public health framework, with three core directions: (1) Investigating frailty—a heterogeneous, dynamic geriatric syndrome driving late-life health inequalities—to develop targeted interventions preserving independence, easing family caregiving, and reducing societal healthcare burden; (2) Designing scalable, personalized prevention strategies using digital tools, big data analytics, and technological innovations to translate research into actionable outcomes for individuals, families, and communities; and (3) Exploring gene-lifestyle-social/natural environment interplay to address health disparities and advance context-specific, person-centered precision aging strategies globally.

Additional Information

Prof. Wu has published extensively in the fields of epidemiology, gerontology, and cardiovascular disease. His work has been featured in major national and international media, including the Wall Street Journal, the Guardian, and National Public Radio.
