Global Summer Institute New

Last summer, I participated in the GSI program at Duke Kunshan University. The experience left me deep impression. During that week, we had several college courses, such as chemistry and biology. In class, the professor taught us some advanced knowledge in the way that was easy to understand. Meanwhile, they also took us to do some course-related experiments, making courses more lively and interesting. For example, we did chemical experiments about using specialized instruments to test contact angles of feathers and lotus leaves. This experiments helped us better understand the advantages of superhydrophobic materials. In these courses, I learned a lot. Additionally, through theses courses, I had a understanding of the liberal arts education of DKU. Besides academic courses, GSI program also included a variety of interesting group activities, which not only let me make lots of friends, but also developed my ability of cooperation. At the end of the project, we also had a group speech, improving my oral expression and speech abilities. In short, this experience brought me a preliminary understanding of college life. Moreover, it improved my various abilities and made my summer vacation more interesting and meaningful.
